Choosing and HVAC Contractor

  
  One of the most important aspects of choosing the right heating or cooling system is choosing the right contractor to install it.  The proper installation of your system is vital to the efficiency and comfort that your system will deliver.  You need an expert that knows and understands proper installation as well as service long after your equipment is installed.  Please consider the following when you are considering a contractor to replace your system:
 
  • Make Sure The Contractor is Licensed
    Check to make sure the contractor’s license is current and if they are a member of a local or national organization.
     
  • Check with the Better Business Bureau
    Are they members of the Better Business Bureau? Check the company history on www.bbb.org to see if they are reputable. It’s not only important to see how the company is rated, but also to see how the company follows up after something goes wrong.     BBB® Non-Accredited A+ Rating

  • Ask for References
    Hear what other people are saying about the contractor.  Ask for referrals from your contractor.
     
  • Maintenance Plans and Warranties
    Ask the contractor about warranties that are included with your new system.  Does the contractor offer a maintenance plan to ensure that your system will continue to run properly.
     
  • Get a Written Contract
    Ask for it in writing.  If a contractor is not willing to put their offer in writing be cautious.  Ask questions and fully understand what the contractor is planning to do and install.
